The Whole-Child:
Come learn with us in our Young Preschool classroom, where imagination and exploration lend themselves to a world of learning. In these classrooms our teachers purposefully construct learning activities to promote early academics and independence. Our program ensures your preschooler will be supported as they learn to develop relationships with peers and will be encouraged to become independent, confident and eager to discover new things. Our teachers build relationships by being respectful, discussing and reading books about friendship and providing opportunities for children to work together.
They will also teach your child problem-solving skills and conflict resolution. By acknowledging your child’s feelings, our program lays the foundation for preschoolers to learn how to understand their own feelings through positive social interactions with their teachers and peers. Teachers respond promptly to a child’s needs, model cooperative behaviors, talk to children at their eye level and create areas in the classroom where preschoolers can work together. Preschoolers are constantly developing physical skills as they explore their environment and expand their horizons. Our program provides activities and games designed to help support muscle development, coordination and manipulative skills, which allows Preschoolers to master skills like running, hopping, jumping, kicking and balancing.
We build Language Development with your preschooler by talking to them, using both verbal and non-verbal gestures. We help them build receptive and expressive language by telling stories, reading books and singing songs. Through thoughtfully designed activities, your child will listen to and understand increasingly complex language. They will learn how to use this language appropriately in conversation and how to express their thoughts and needs.
The academic portion of our Pre-School program is amazing!<?p>
We begin our day with the Pledge of Allegiance and a daily prayer. It is a morning of structure, routines, songs, worksheets and more. Our ABeka Christian curriculum is designed to offer children a lively academic program that provides an enjoyable educational foundation. The program instills a desire to learn more and stimulate young children’s imagination.
Each child has a set of beautifully illustrated, challenging and easy to use workbooks. The program and its correlated materials teach the Preschoolers to sharpen their listening skills, follow directions, practice hand-eye coordination, learn number concepts and recognize letter shapes and letter sounds. The Christian teaching comes in the wording of the workbooks as they learn to be kind, love God, share, obey, tell the truth and be helpers. The ABeka program has over 40 years of experience and is currently used in over 10,000 Christian schools around the world. It is one of the most popular Christian academic programs.
Understanding that children also learn by experiencing fun, creative learning experiences, our afternoon program provides just that. FUN. During the afternoon children will have center time, free play, music and movement, Character Building, story time and much, much more!
Below are the “Program Goals” for the children in the preschool program. Generally, by the end of this level your child should be able to:
Language & Developmental
- Trace pathways by doing dot-to-dot
- Color large, simple forms completely and focusing on staying in the lines
- Recognize name
- Recognize formation of some vowels and consonantsboo

Numbers
- Simple counting 1-30
- Understand number concepts 1-15
Bible
- Know bible verses, songs and lessons such as Creation, Noah, Boy Samuel, Daniel, the Good Samaritan and much more!
Spanish:
- Children will learn a basic Spanish vocabulary for familiar objects and songs.
Self -Care Skills:
- Using a napkin to wipe face and hands, independently putting things away, following rules, dressing independently, feeding and serving oneself, taking turns, choosing weather appropriate clothing and more!
